1. New Sound: 'sh'

Sing along and do the action. Can you think of anything with the sound 'sh' in? Can you find anything in your house with the sound 'sh' in?

2. New Sound: 'sh'

Our Reception Letters and Sounds Phonics lessons teach children to read letters and begin to blend to read words.

Look at the picture. Say the word. Does it begin with 'ch' or 'sh'? Write the correct digraph underneath. You don't need to write the whole word. You are just labeling either 'ch' or 'sh'. Of course, if you would like to have a go at sounding out the rest of the word then go for it!

Your grown up will read the story to you, however, you will be able to help to read some of the words and sounds.

Can you spot the digraph 'sh' in any of the words?

Can you spot these tricky words in the story: was, the, he, no, into, to, you

Can you find and read these words in the story: ship, at, it, had, trip, Shep, fish, chip, shop, cross, on, cliff, fell, in, fin, went, help, his, back, and, him, as, put, rock
