I thoroughly enjoyed being transported to the time when Tutankhamun was alive! It was really exciting reading your work through - learning new things about the King. I was particularly interested in the fact about him dying unexpectedly and, therefore, he only had a small tomb. You also taught me that a vulture's head is a symbol of being a King! You have some superb PowerPoint Skills - the transitions, the animations, the images, the layout...all fabulous!
I am very impressed with your presentation, Alex. The transitions, backgrounds, external links, animations and audio are just brilliant! I particularly like the Glossary and the Quiz at the end. I got them all right...yay! You have taught me lots of interesting facts. I did not know it took 3 months to make a mummy! That is a long time! Well done.
Well done, Oscar. The black and gold design is very striking and the pictures really draw the reader in. You have carried out some excellent research too. It is very sad that King Tut only ruled for 10 years and we don't know how he died. He is a very interesting character. Congrats on completing an excellent project on King Tut :-)
Maggie's Norway Day!
This week, Maggie and her little brother, Joey, headed to Norway for the day! They made a trip to the North to see the Northern Lights, learned about the Vikings and even did a reading comprehension about humpback whales. They also danced to A-ha, listened to whale sounds, completed a whistle-stop tour past Roald Dahl, painted a fjord, and embraced hygge (although predominantly a Danish concept, it has strong Norwegian links too)! Maggie and her family managed to enjoy some popular foods too, like open sandwiches, vaffels, salmon and tacos. We cannot believe how much you packed into a day! Very well done. We are looking forwards to where you go next in the world!
Horses and Peg Dolls - Amy and Milly
Taking inspiration from our Spanish crafts on Monday afternoon in School, Amy and her sister Milly made these beautiful horses and peg dollies as riders. Amy's is called Rapunzel and Milly's is called Ariel. Lovely craft, girls. Well done.
Super skills have been used by Maggie when making her information about chocolate! It was great to see that you used such incredible editing skills too. I agree that cocoa nibs are too bitter but the rest of your information made my mouth water (nearly as much as talk of pizza!)
Well done to Louisa on her informative Powerpoint presentation! I now understand a lot more about exactly how chocolate is made. You also used some fantastic Powerpoint skills so have definitely remembered skills such as transitions between the slides. Great work!
Ellis combing two of our topics - Chocolate and Measuring Out
Excellent work here, Ellis. We like how you are combining our two topics here. Your 'safety first' approach is noteworthy too. Well done for making sure the hot water was in a safe place. Super stuff! We like your cross-curricular approach!
Sensational Superhero Work from Alex
Alex continues to be hard at work on his Superheroes topic. Mrs Devlin and I think it is a great idea to fly supervillains to Azkaban! Good choices with the superhero-style superpowers. You have some fantastic real-life superpowers too, Alex. We are very impressed. Thank you for teaching us about the Supervillain, General Blight, too! Keep up the excellent work!
Louisa making some beautiful bunting to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of VE Day. Just fabulous!
Alex's favourite superhero!
Very well done, Alex. You know a lot about Bananaman. You have taught me some things about him too! His super powers sound very special, indeed. He must need them to fight off all those enemies! Very impressed. Thank you for sharing your work.

Louisa has been working extremely hard on her alien poetry. We like your use of props and the fancy title...it's very effective how it moves across the screen. Your performance is very clear...super use of intonation too. Very well done.
Well done on your poetry composition William and what a bonus that Mr Smythe will like your shirt!
A beautifully composed and written out poem Alex (as well as a performance). Good stuff!
Well done Rebecca with your performance. Great pictures that you have used as props!
Another fabulous performance!
Absolutely loving your poetry composition and performance Hugo! What a fancy video too. I hope the alien doesn't get into trouble for drinking Mrs Johnson's lemonade... I am impressed and I know Miss Muncey will be pleased to see this too. Well done!
Some more things you've been up to!
Amazing newspaper Alex!
Even a rope swing!
Some science with Katie!
And of course...a lot of reading!
Some fabulous examples of your poetry
Louisa has created a wonderful poem and has written it out so neatly in her finest handwriting. You can see Louisa performing her poetry on the School Facebook Page. Very well done, Louisa. Oscar and Lilla have been busy creating a video performance of their poem...which is all about life in 'lockdown.' We think the poem is very clever. Writing poems can be very tricky and takes lots of drafting and re-drafting. Mrs Devlin and I are just delighted with your hard work, Louisa, Oscar and Lilla! Super stuff!

Maggie and her brother, Joey, showing off their Samba dance moves...part of their mini Brazilian topic!
Video of Carnival Music.mp4
Maggie and her brother, Joey, went to Brazil yesterday! They made Brazilian cupcakes, carnival masks, Brazilian butterflies...and visited The Rainforest and The Iguazu Waterfall. They finished off the day with a Samba Dancing lesson and partying at Rio Carnival. We spy some good moves there! Just amazing! We love your creativity.
Charlie has also been very busy creating skeletons, baking and being in the great outdoors - to name just a few of the activities he has been doing! Well done!
Rebecca has been hard at work learning about Egyptians. We, particularly, like how you have drawn and sculptured pyramids. Your sarcophagus and Egyptian mummy models are also excellent...and we always like to see outdoor learning! We spy a karate outfit too for P.E...just brilliant!
Alien Poetry/Book Performances
Last Friday (24.04.2020), Mrs Devlin set you a challenge! She asked you to read out loud/perform a book or poem about ALIENS! A couple of you have sent in some fantastic videos of you doing just this! Mrs Devlin is over the moon with your performances...as am I. She thinks they are fantastic and have really made her smile. Thank you for sharing them with us.
So, please send in anything you are doing...no matter how big or small. I am enjoying getting to know you all this way and Mrs Devlin and Mrs Sigley are both really liking seeing your posts. Keep them coming!

Thank you for sharing your wonderful work with us, Year 3!
Robert has been incredibly busy too! He has been camping, climbing, painting, planting, making nature crowns AND working hard on his written tasks. Excellent...keep up the fantastic work, Robert!
For our 'Directions' Topic in Maths, Louisa has been very creative and made this beautiful ancient-looking map. She followed this map through her house....and it took her to the 'Wild West' in her garden. Just fantastic!
It was the 50th Anniversary of 'Earth Day' on 22nd April 2020. Maggie and her brother, Joey, have been very eco-friendly and created this poster all about how to be kind to the Earth. It is excellent...and it has reminded me of some things I can do to make sure that I am looking after our planet. Such a wonderful and creative idea.
Louisa has been very busy creating this fabulous pyramid out of Duplo. We really like the detail in your model. Well done.
Mrs Sigley, Mrs Devlin and I are really impressed with how hard you have all been working on our Egyptian Topic. Here is a photo of Rebecca with a beautiful Egyptian headdress. It is so great to see what you are all doing over this time away from school. Please feel free to send in more videos and pictures to the school email address or the school Facebook page.
