A message from the Chair of Worth PTA

Hello Everyone!

I hope you all had a lovely summer holiday!

I would like to welcome all our new starters to Worth Primary School and hope you have a wonderful and exiting journey over the coming years.

As Chair of the PTA, I would like to inform everyone a little more about us and to ensure that you put this important date in your diary:

Our PTA AGM is on Wednesday 27^th September at 7.00pm in the school hall and everybody is very welcome to join us – we’d love to see you there! This is a very relaxed evening with a just a few formalities that have to be completed. It’s also a great opportunity to meet other members of the school community (parents from other year groups and some of the staff).

We are all volunteers that are passionate about supporting the school with fundraising events to purchase additional and essential equipment along with helping to fund some extra curriculum activities.

The Core Committee is set up of 3 roles - Chair, Secretary & Treasurer.  This committee help create a plan of action for the year’s events, heavily supported by Worth Staff and 3 Key Focus Groups.

These Key Focus Groups are Christmas Fair, Summer Fete & Social Events, where people can choose which of the major events they would like to help organise/run (you do not have to limit yourself to one but equally you do not have to commit to all three).  Last year we saw a great success as the Groups led brilliant, enjoyable and successful events which raised a combined total of over £5000!

Personally, I would like to say that I have loved being a member of the PTA in a core role and also as a support.  I have made friends in all year groups, enjoyed meeting up for a cup of tea... or the occasional glass of Fizz and have loved seeing the children enjoy the fundraising events.

However, the Core Committee roles are limited to a 2 year office and, due to length of service in our roles, myself as Chair, Kate Delaney-Morris as Secretary & Helen Klass as Treasurer, will all be resigning from our roles on the Core Committee on 27^th September at our PTA AGM.

This is a very exciting opportunity for a new committee with some fresh ideas and for more people to get involved! A full handover will be given to the successful candidates and we will always be on hand if needed!

Please return your application form to the School Office by Friday 15^th September 2023.

The new Committee members will be announced and confirmed at the PTA AGM. We would like you to come along to hear about last year’s successes and funds raised along with planning the new year’s wish list!

This will also be the opportunity to volunteer for one (or more – as many as you wish) of our Key Focus Groups so please join us.
