This term's English Homework is going to be slightly different but hopefully very enjoyable! Instead of a weekly task, there will be an 'Around the World Reading Challenge', which will last for the whole term. This challenge will need you to read for at least 20 minutes per week (this can be over several nights). Every time you read for a total of 10 minutes, you gain 500 miles to fly yourself around the world. You will visit: New York, Rio De Janeiro, Nairobi, Sydney, Beijing and Athens, on your travels! You can read in 5 minute slots and then when you have read for 10 minutes, a grown-up can record this in your Reading Log. You will then be able to 'colour' in the next stage of the route on your 'Passport'. We will also have a large 'Passport' in school for everyone to have their name on and move along, as each block of 10 minutes (500 miles), is completed.
Parents: This task will be 'launched' on Monday 10th January and will be explained to the children. They will then receive their Passport to bring home and keep in their Reading Log.
Happy Reading and Happy Travelling!!
