This year, we are working with Cheshire Constabulary and the Safer School Partnership to appoint Junior Safety Officers (JSO) in school. The opportunity was opened up to Y5 and, after applying for the position with reasons why, we can now share our new JSOs with you. Huge congratulations to the children. They will be doing monthly assemblies, keeping their own school noticeboard up to date and reporting back to the Police and PCSOs.
We all enjoyed celebrating European Day of Languages yesterday. The children and staff dressed up in national dress, the colours of European flags or wore items which represented one of the countries. Multiple languages could be heard throughout the school and the children had lots of fun learning new facts.
Art Club has started up again! This half term, there is an Autumn theme and this week the children have done observational drawings of pumpkins and leaves.
Y4 had a great time yesterday during their musical instrument lesson. This term, as part of the music curriculum, Y4 will begin learning how to play the violin and the cello. We look forward to seeing how they progress.
Gardening Club is back up and running for a while this half term. We are excited to have some new Year 1 gardeners joining us this year too. The children have been busy pulling up carrots and beetroot as well as picking sweetpeas and poppy seed heads. They will be in charge of getting the garden up to standard again after the summer ready for another successful year.
We are very proud to have been recognised as a Partnership School for Initial Teacher Training with Manchester Metropolitan University. Each year we work with students to help to inspire and encourage them on their journey on becoming the next generation of teachers. Thank you for all of the hard work the teachers do especially Mr Smythe as our school Student Mentor.
