We are all in the festive spirit at school today. Christmas songs are being sung, santa hats are on and the glitter is everywhere! The children are really enjoying their whole school decorations day - their work looks fantastic so far.
Paul Moses from Anaphylaxis Campaign visited our assembly this morning for our charity cheque presentation. Thanks to all of the generous donations and fundraising efforts throughout the year, we were able to present a cheque for £1000. Severe allergies impact a number of families at Worth - thank you for the support and advice from these families over the years too. Well done to all.
Y4 had a fantastic time at the Legoland Discovery Centre yesterday. They used Lego to build vehicles and robots and then programmed them using iPads. They had to problem solve and work well as a team to complete their challenges. The children have all said that they can't wait to visit again!
We would like to say a huge thank you to our amazing PTA and all of the parents who gave up their time to make last night's wreath making event a success. It was a fantastic evening enjoyed by all. It isn't too early to put them up is it?
Today, we have been visited by the Mobile Library! The children love the opportunity to refresh their class libraries with new titles and, this morning, many were given the task of changing some of their class books. We look forward to hearing about their favourite stories.
A group of Y3/4 children represented the school this morning in an indoor athletics tournament. The event was made up of a number of local schools from the Poynton area. The children had an amazing attitude throughout and tried really hard at every event they were in. We finished in 3rd place overall - well done Team Worth!
We would like to thank Mrs Newman for visiting our Y6 class yesterday to talk about growing up in a Jewish family as part of the RE curriculum. She brought in a variety of precious objects to show the children and explained about different Jewish festivals including Sukkot which the children have learnt about recently. She also showed examples of how to read and write in Hebrew and even sang a song or two! Mrs Newman commented on how well behaved the class had been and complimented them on their existing knowledge.
