Thank you to all of the children who applied to be part of the new Eco Committee. Miss Purcell was very impressed with all of the entries and was pleased that so many children felt so passionate about the topic. She has now chosen the official committee members and announced it during this morning's assembly. She was so impressed by all of her letters that all who wrote to her are still going to be involved in some way.
Reception class have been having lots of fun this morning making pancakes. They are very proud of what they have made but it is making the staff very hungry as the staff room now smells of delicious pancakes. They have been very impressed with Miss Purcell's pancake flipping skills!
Thank you to our PTA for purchasing a new interactive screen for Y4. It was installed over half term and gave the class a nice surprise this morning. The children and staff already love it and are excited to use all of its features in their lessons. Thank you as well to Mr Greaves for redecorating the classroom - it looks great!
As it is Safer Internet Day this week, we have been discussing the topic of online safety in school. Each Key Stage had an assembly from James and Louise (the CCSOs) this morning and Y5 and Y6 had a workshop with PC Andy Barron and PCSO Amy Hickman this afternoon. The children learnt about keeping personal information safe, what to do if you're worried online and age limits for certain apps and games. Thank you to our visitors.
Thank you to the PTA for organising the Curry and Bingo night last Friday - we all had a great time. Thank you as well to all of those who attended and supported the event and well done to our bingo callers, Mr Smythe and Mr Greaves! A final special thank you goes to Poynton Purple Pakora for supplying the delicious food and prize vouchers.
Well done to our Y5 and Y6 athletes who attended the indoor athletics tournament yesterday. This was the next stage of the competition and, once again, the children did us proud. They came second overall and are extremely proud of their shiny silver medals. Above that, they maintained a good sports attitude throughout and represented the school brilliantly!
Thank you to our PTA for purchasing our new music trolley for all of our new musical instruments. It will make lessons much easier - we look forward to using it!
Members of Y5 and Y6 used their Maths, Art and origami skills this morning to work collaboratively and problem solve. Knowledge of the properties of 2D shapes and accurate measuring and folding enabled them to create some really impressive tessellating patterns.
