It was Worth Primary School's 50th birthday party yesterday and we made sure we celebrated it properly. We had a 1960s themed day as the school was built in 1969. Children and adults came dressed up in some very impressive outfits, there was a lot of birthday cake, a special assembly, a party lunch and a 1960s boogie in the afternoon. The activities the children completed throughout the day were also linked to the 1960s. During the evening, we opened the school and welcomed plenty of past pupils and staff. It was so lovely to hear all of the wonderful memories from everybody.
Well done to our footballers who played against Moorfield Primary School at home on Tuesday. The girls made history by playing in our very first girls football match as well - well done! The boys unfortunately didn't get a win but the girls managed to nail a winning score of 3-2.
This half term, our Reception children have been nurturing caterpillars in their classroom using a chrysalis station. Those caterpillars have now turned into big, beautiful butterflies and have now been released from school. The children loved seeing how they changed over time.
Reception had a fantastic time yesterday on their trip at 'Nest in the Woods'. They enjoyed working in the forest all day especially roasting marshmallows on a campfire and going down the mudslide!
