As part of their end of school celebrations, Y6 went bowling today. There was a lot of fun and laughter and they had a great time trying to beat the staff scores. Thank you to all who helped with the trip.

  • The Worth Games

    Tue 24 Jul 2018

The whole school have had a great morning today playing a variety of different team sports in honour of The Commonwealth Games. Each house team won points for the home nation they were representing. The overall results were:

    4th - England (Hazel)

    3rd - Scotland (Ash)

    2nd - Wales (Oak)

    1st - Northern Ireland (Birch)

The children not only impressed us with their sporting ability but their positive and supportive attitude and sportsmanship - well done! Thank you to Mr Smythe for arranging this fantastic event.

  • Pizza Making in Y4

    Mon 23 Jul 2018
After completing their market research, Mrs Sigley and Y4 spent this morning making their own signature pizzas. They made and kneaded their own dough, added a tomato sauce and then created their own individual toppings. The best bit was being able to taste their creations (even though it made the rest of the school very hungry).
  • Violin Assembly

    Mon 23 Jul 2018
Well done to all of our violinists who performed a special assembly in front of the whole school this morning. They did a fantastic job and impressed everyone with their talents. Thank you to Mrs Williamson, our violin teacher, for coming in this morning to play alongside them.
  • School Disco

    Fri 20 Jul 2018
Everybody had great fun dancing the night away at the disco yesterday evening. The children and the teachers all thoroughly enjoyed themselves - there were definitely some hoarse voices and sore feet this morning.
  • Mini Enterprise Sale Day

    Thu 19 Jul 2018
What a fantastic morning! The children have done a super job of selling their enterprise products and buying items from the various stalls. Thank you to the staff and everyone who came in to help. A special thank you to Mrs Huck for organising the event.

  • 150 Years of Poynton Baptist Church

    Fri 13 Jul 2018
We would like to thank Poynton Baptist Church for inviting our Year 5 and Year 6 children to their exhibition which celebrated 150 years of their church. The children and staff had a wonderful time travelling through the last 150 years of Poynton.
  • Nelson Pit Project

    Fri 13 Jul 2018

Ed Pilkington has been working on a project with our Year 4 children recently. He set them the task to create a collection of art work linked to the topic of dragonflies and now a selection of their work is being presented in the Nelson Pit Visitors Centre. Ed kindly sent us this photo of the wood carved door frame he made after discussing design ideas with the children. Can you see our dragonfly?
