Well done to all of the Worth cross country runners yesterday. The children attended the annual event at Moorfield Primary School along with a number of other local schools. Worth finished in 4th place overall - great team effort!
The warm weather couldn't have been better timed for our children. Today was the day they got to try out their new field trim trail. All of the classes have the opportunity to take turns on it and, from the reactions today, it seems as though that can't come quick enough!
Yesterday, the whole school were able to enjoy the spectacular production of Pinocchio when they were visited by the musical theatre company. Everybody joined in with songs and actions and some children even got up to perform.
The children in KS2 were given a real treat this afternoon! They were visited by poet, Matt Goodfellow. Matt really made the children laugh and got them all involved in his poetry by teaching them the words and actions. There was also an opportunity to get a signed copy of his book. What an inspirational afternoon.
Y6 have been the perfect role models this afternoon by supporting story writing in our reception class. They created new versions of the much loved book "The Very Hungry Caterpillar".
Y2 had a very exciting day today meeting "Horrid Henry" author Francesca Simon at Stockport Plaza. They even received a signed copy of her new book each!
The children have done a super job today raising awareness and money for World Down Syndrome Day. Many came in their odd socks, bought gingerbread socks at break, learnt the Makaton signs to "You've got a friend in me" in assembly and some classes did related activities. Well done everybody!
Y6 had a great time at the library recently. The children were fascinated to find out how a coded computer program could be powered by fruit and vegetables using an electrical circuit! They had to complete their circuits in groups and use the ICT software to compose their own song.
Some children from our Gardening Club went with Mrs James and Mr Greaves today to collect their new gardening toolkit from Waitrose. The children have been given some new resources including seeds to grow in their garden. They have also been invited to set up a stall at Waitrose's Farm Shop to sell their produce in the future. How exciting!
Y4 have been busy in Art Club this half term. Most recently, they have been doing observational drawings of spring flowers in the style of Vincent Van Gogh.
