Transition into Reception
Our aim is to ensure a smooth, positive and successful transition into school, where every child feels safe, confident and excited to begin their learning journey with us. This is supported through:
Visits to partner pre-schools, alongside transition discussions with key workers and the setting SENDCo.
Liaison with external agencies, where appropriate, to ensure individual needs are fully understood and supported.
Opportunities for pupils to visit the school during the summer term, including one morning and one afternoon session in the Summer Term.
One half day before starting full time in September.
Sharing key information with parents via Tapestry, as well as a EYFS parent information evening during the Summer and Autumn term.
Photographs and information packs for families to share with their child, helping them become familiar with staff and the school environment before their visits.
