Homework

Spellings for the last half term will include a few words that you can learn to challenge yourself. They are not more difficult that the ten you all have to learn, just extra should you wish to show off how well you have learned and remembered your spellings.

 

Remember, all the spellings with missing letters follow the pattern in the first few spellings.

When you have found out the pattern, the spellings should be guessable.

 

(But don't worry if you can't figure them out,I will make paper copies of the  whole spelling list available in school if you really want them, just ask me)

It is a fantastic way to summarise what you have learnt about China and to persuade people to visit. Challenge yourself! Include counterpoints as to what people should avoid when visiting China – can you think of any negatives based on your learning?

Seaside holiday trips became very popular among the rich. Research holiday advert posters from this period and create one of your own for a seaside venue you love. Hint: the use of railways dominated these posters and towns.

INDUSTRY

What was the industrial revolution? How did it change the way of life for people? What happened in the towns and cities of Britain (e.g. housing, food, jobs, health)?

Find a positive, a minus and an interesting fact about the reign of Queen Victoria.
