Our school choir visited St George's church yesterday to perform some of their favourite songs. They all sang beautifully and put on a lovely show. Miss Harwood and Mrs Hall said they were really impressed. Well done all!
Thank you so much for all of your donations for the 'Bags 2 School' collection and for taking the time to send your items in. The bags have been weighed and you have helped to raise £149.20 for the PTA.
Half of Y5 and Y6 took part in a 'Maths Problem Solving Morning' today whilst the other half were at an athletics tournament. Mrs Giles set some very tricky problems but the children had great fun applying their knowledge and strategies and they enjoyed the challenge.
Y2 had a fantastic time on their trip to Whitworth Art Gallery. They had great fun looking at the artwork and creating their very own prints. Thank you to everybody who helped - it was a super day.
Our new after school Art Club for Y3 and Y4 has started. The children have got some important projects this half term and they are already busy preparing props and displays for this year's panto. Thank you to Miss Harwood for setting up this new club.
Thank you for all of your harvest donations. We were so impressed with amount of food and toiletries that had been brought in this year. The food has been 'bagged up' ready for collection to be sent to the Wellspring Kitchen in Stockport.
Year 1 had a fantastic time at Macclesfield Forest on their school trip today. They learnt all about living things at this time of year and spent the afternoon den building. Thank you to Frances and Rose (from Macclesfield Forest) who led today's super session.
A huge well done to the children who took part in the Summer Reading Challenge. We are feeling very proud of them all especially as Worth had the most participants out of all the other the primary schools in Poynton.
A selection of children from each class had an exciting afternoon today choosing lots of new books for their classes from the mobile library. The children are looking forward to reading their new stories.
This morning, we had a charity assembly for last year's charity, Alopecia UK. Thanks to your kind donations and efforts during the sponsored run, out of uniform days and mini-enterprise week, we have raised a fantastic £1000. Mr and Mrs Schjelderup and Sue Schilling (from the charity) visited school to talk to the children and accept the cheque. Thank you for your generosity.
