Year 4 have taken part in the Morrisons campaign, 'Messages of Hope'. The children wrote positive messages and decorated postcards with bright colours for vulnerable members of the community. Morrisons are going to distribute these soon - we hope they bring a smile to the community. Thank you to Morrisons for donating the 'Cedric the Seeds' books too.
Y2 brought their learning about The Great Fire of London to life today. The children have made Tudor houses and created a cardboard Pudding Lane. With the help of local fireman, Mr Gaskell, we set fire to Pudding Lane to see how quickly the fire spread.
Y6 have been learning all about the history of medicine. Part of this topic covers the NHS so the children have taken the opportunity to honour our NHS heroes by creating a fantastic hall display. The children designed it and did all of the work. Well done Y6, the display looks brilliant!
Reception, Y2 and Y6 have all loved their PE lessons today with 8 BY 8 - thank you so much. We also have an after school football club on Fridays run by 8 BY 8.
Our Y5/6 bubble enjoyed looking out for meteors this morning and were very excited that they managed to see one! The Lyrid Meteor Shower can still be seen until the end of April and the best time to see it is early morning or after sunset.
World Book Day felt very different in school this year. However, the children who were in made the most of the day. They enjoyed reading stories in unusual places, taking part in illustration masterclasses, acting out/telling stories in the woods, writing character descriptions, Harry Potter yoga and planning prequels to well known stories.
We hope that those of you who were at home enjoyed the day and activities that your teachers planned for you. Most of all, we hope you enjoyed the time to read a good book! And for those of you who dressed up for your daily Zoom call, we loved seeing you as your chosen character.
